We And Our Mountains

In the series “We and our Mountains” Anna Annuk Soghomonyan pays homage to the Armenian school of painting, which originated with Martiros Saryan in the early 20th century and was continued by Minas Avetisyan in the latter half of the 20th century. The artist’s endeavor is centered on revitalizing the rich Armenian artistic tradition by reinterpreting its aesthetics and capturing the essence of the country’s mountainous landscapes. Soghomonyan skillfully intertwines her personal vision with the legacies of these esteemed Armenian artists, aiming to construct a bridge between the past and the present. Through this, she ultimately forges a unique narrative that is distinctly her own.
